Life in Versailles was difficult for Marie Antoinette, the daily routine she was expected to perform as Queen of France held little interest for her so in 1783 the Queen had a private retreat, Petit Hameau, built near the palace. The retreat was a tranquil hamlet surrounded by lakes, gardens, cottages and watermills and it was here in the gardens that Marie Antoinette grew the trademark roses that would become associated with her from then on. To create this simple, elegant blend our tea master has c has combined a classic Ceylon region Orange Pekoe normally so well known for its strong, full-bodied taste with a fragrant rose petal to create a brew that every queen is sure to enjoy.
